Apple M2 Chip: The Next Generation of Power and Performance


 

Apple has unveiled the M2 chip, the next generation of its custom silicon for Mac. The M2 builds on the success of the M1 chip, offering up to 18% faster CPU performance, up to 35% faster GPU performance, and up to 40% faster Neural Engine performance.



The M2 is built using a new 5-nanometer process, which allows Apple to pack more transistors into the chip. This results in better performance and power efficiency. The M2 also features a new unified memory architecture that provides up to 100GB/s of bandwidth, which is twice as much as the M1.
